Currently, the taxis service under the Yango and Yandex Go brands operates in 16 countries. Yandex is looking for an executive manager for Yango (the international division of Yandex.Taxi) in Norway. According to another vacancy on the Yandex website, the company is looking for a coordinator in the Norwegian branch of Yango. He will manage the flow of drivers who come to work at the Yango Regional Center and help them over the phone using the app and other technical issues.
The representative of Yandex.Taxi confirmed to the publication the information about entering a new market. “We are interested in the Scandinavian market, so we are considering various opportunities for development. Moreover, Yango already has experience of working in Finland”, he said. According to information from internal sources, Yandex Taxi will start from entering long distance transfer market in Oslo airport and Oslo city, with special accent on low margin, between 5% and 10% from rides prices. Full coverage of the whole Norway is not on priority list for first 3-4 years.
Yandex services operate in other European countries as well. Yandex.Taxi officially introduced the Yango brand in November 2018, simultaneously with the launch of the service in Helsinki.
Now the service for booking taxi under the Yango and Yandex Go brands is available in 16 countries, including Finland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
